With the news of needing to continue the "Shelter at Home" until the end of April comes a lot of questions. What does this mean for my job? What does this mean for the economy? Will we ever get back to the normal we had before? How do I best engage as a father and husband constantly being around my family?
At Family Lines, we are always talking about ways to Fight Absence, specifically absence in fatherhood. There are three ways to be absent: Emotionally, Physically and Spiritually. Right now, it is unlikely that physical absence is an issue for any of us except for maybe the growing desire for it [maybe you don't feel that way either, and that is ok, share the secret]. However, we can still be emotionally and spiritually absent even when we are constantly around each other. Sometimes we just need some help, more tools in our toolbag. Sometimes, we need to watch other fathers use those tools because either we were never taught or we forgot.
We wanted to share with you some of the tools that Family Lines has honed over the last decade of drawing the hearts of fathers to their children.
