“Rod to River” is one of Family Lines’ favorite workshops we offer. We love it because of the results. Regardless of age or the state of the relationship coming in; distant, under repair, or close, it draws dads and kids together. It works! Why? Because it has 5 “ingredients” that resonate universally with fathers, father figures, and their children…
1) Exclusive time. One on one - removed from our every day distractions and routine.
2) Building. Shoulder to shoulder and hands on, creating something one of a kind.
3) Shared adventure. New places; learning, laughing, and making life long memories.
4) Community. Together with other dads and kids, reminding us we’re not alone.
5) Intentionality. Conversation breaks that help us apply the workshop experience to our father/child relationship.
One of Family Lines’ goals as we connect with other leaders around the country, and also the aim of this section of the newsletter, is to inspire others to think about the activities they have a passion for and how they can leverage these same 5 “ingredients”.
Family Lines is much more about growing a movement than an organization.
What do we mean by that?
Helping fathers stay engaged and finish strong - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. To see communities of families strengthened through the transforming love of God and writing legacies of wholeness for future generations. These are the end goals that last and matter most.
So how about you?
What has God put in your hand, and given you a passion for that you can use to help a family? Maybe it’s your own, start closest to home. We’d love to hear from you!
Share stories, ask questions, explore what this could look like for families you know.
Stay tuned for future newsletters, we’ll keep the inspiration coming!
